§2 MR No. 984 - The Matchless Christ Offers His Spirit to the Humble and Contrite

§8 There in His open hand lay the book, the roll of the history of Gods providences, the prophetic history of nations and the church. Herein was contained the divine utterances, His authority, His commandments, His laws, the whole symbolic counsel of the Eternal, and the history of all ruling powers in the nations. In symbolic language was contained in that roll the influence of every nation, tongue, and people from the beginning of earths history to its close. {12MR 296.3}[3]

§10 This roll was written within and without. John says: I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon [verse 4]. The vision as presented to John made its impression upon his mind. The destiny of every nation was contained in that book. John was distressed at the utter inability of any human being or angelic intelligence to read the words, or even to look thereon. His soul was wrought up to such a point of agony and suspense that one of the strong angels had compassion on him, and laying his hand on him assuringly, said, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof [verse 5]. {12MR 296.4}[4]
§11 约翰继续说:“我又看见宝座与四活物并长老之中,有羔羊站立,像是被杀过的,有七角七眼,就是上帝的七灵,奉差遣往普天下去的。这羔羊前来,从坐宝座的右手里拿了书卷”(6、7节)。当书卷展开时,凡观看它的都充满了敬畏。书中没有空白页。没有空间写更多的内容了。“祂既拿了书卷,四活物和二十四位长老就俯伏在羔羊面前,各拿着琴和盛满了香的金炉;这香就是众圣徒的祈祷。他们唱新歌,说:祢配拿书卷,配揭开七印;因为祢曾被杀,用自己的血从各族、各方、各民、各国中买了人来,叫他们归于上帝,又叫他们成为国民,作祭司归于上帝,在地上执掌王权。我又看见且听见,宝座与活物并长老的周围有许多天使的声音;他们的数目有千千万万,大声说:曾被杀的羔羊是配得权柄、丰富、智慧、能力、尊贵、荣耀、颂赞的。我又听见在天上、地上、地底下、沧海里,和天地间一切所有被造之物,都说:但愿颂赞、尊贵、荣耀、权势都归给坐宝座的和羔羊,直到永永远远!四活物就说:‘阿们!’众长老也俯伏敬拜。……我就观看,见有一匹灰色马;骑在马上的,名字叫作死,阴府也随着他;有权柄赐给他们,可以用刀剑、饥荒、瘟疫(或作:死亡)、野兽,杀害地上四分之一的人。揭开第五印的时候,我看见在祭坛底下,有为上帝的道、并为作见证被杀之人的灵魂,大声喊着说:‘圣洁真实的主啊,祢不审判住在地上的人,给我们伸流血的冤,要等到几时呢?’于是有白衣赐给他们各人;又有话对他们说,还要安息片时,等着一同作仆人的和他们的弟兄也象他们被杀,满足了数目。……羔羊揭开第七印的时候,天上寂静约有二刻。我看见那站在上帝面前的七位天使,有七枝号赐给他们。另有一位天使拿着金香炉来,站在祭坛旁边。有许多香赐给他,要和众圣徒的祈祷一同献在宝座前的金坛上。那香的烟和众圣徒的祈祷从天使的手中一同升到上帝面前”(启5:8-14;6:8-11;8:1-4)。{12MR297.1}[5]

§13 诗人祈祷说:“耶和华啊,我曾求告祢,求祢快快临到我这里!我求告祢的时候,愿祢留心听我的声音!愿我的祷告如香陈列在祢面前!愿我举手祈求,如献晚祭!耶和华啊,求祢禁止我的口,把守我的嘴”(诗141:1-3)。我们有充分的证据表明献给上帝的谦卑痛悔的祷告在祂眼中看为宝贵。没有一个会落空。主应许说:“你们祈求,就给你们;寻找,就寻见;叩门,就给你们开门。因为,凡祈求的,就得着;寻找的,就寻见;叩门的,就给他开门。你们中间作父亲的,谁有儿子求饼,反给他石头呢?求鱼,反拿蛇当鱼给他呢?求鸡蛋,反给他蝎子呢?你们虽然不好,尚且知道拿好东西给儿女;何况天父,岂不更将圣灵给求他的人吗”(路11:9-13)?{12MR297.2}[6]
§14 The psalmist prayed: [Psalms 141:1-3, quoted]. We have every evidence that the humble, contrite prayer offered to God is regarded as precious in His sight. Not one is lost. The promise is: [Luke 11:9-13, quoted]. {12MR 297.2}[6]

§16 This invitation is for all. The Saviour seeks to impress the truth by an illustration. Will the father whose child asks for bread, give him a stone? If he asks a fish, will he give him a serpent? If he asks for an egg, will he give him a scorpion? This is presented as an impossibility. Drawing the contrast between the heavenly and earthly parent, Christ adds, If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him? {12MR 297.3}[7]

§20 The Lord hears the prayers of all who come to Him in their necessity, all who are humble and contrite in heart. The Lord hears, and He will manifest Himself unto them, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the hearts of the contrite ones. . . . {12MR 297.5}[9]
§21 “我知道你的行为,你也不冷也不热;我巴不得你或冷或热。你既如温水,也不冷也不热,所以我必从我口中把你吐出去。你说:我是富足,已经发了财,一样都不缺;却不知道你是那困苦、可怜、贫穷、瞎眼、赤身的。我劝你向我买火炼的金子,叫你富足;又买白衣穿上,叫你赤身的羞耻不露出来;又买眼药擦你的眼睛,使你能看见”(启3:15-18)。青少年若是愿意向自己死,就有宝贵的经验要他们去获得,然而他们若是珍爱和高抬自我,基督就不会与他们同工或为他们行事。祂就会允许他们显出在自豪、傲慢和属灵的贫穷中他们是多么微乎其微。基督说:“然而在撒狄,你还有几名是未曾污秽自己衣服的,他们要穿白衣与我同行,因为他们是配得过的。凡得胜的,必这样穿白衣,我也必不从生命册上涂抹他的名;且要在我父面前,和我父众使者面前,认他的名”(启3:4,5)。{12MR298.1}[10]
§22 [Revelation 3:15-18, quoted.] There are precious experiences for the youth to gain, if they will die to self, but if they cherish and exalt self, Christ will not work with or for them. He will permit them to exhibit how little there is of them in their pride and haughtiness and spiritual poverty. Christ says, [Revelation 3:4, 5, quoted.] {12MR 298.1}[10]
