*Furthermore Elihu answered and said,

* 伯34:2 你们智慧人要听我的话；有知识的人要留心听我说。

*Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.

* 伯34:3 因为耳朵试验话语，好像上膛尝食物。

*For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.

* 伯34:4 我们当选择何为是，彼此知道何为善。
§8
*Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.

* 伯34:5 约伯曾说：我是公义，上帝夺去我的理；

*For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.

* 伯34:6 我虽有理，还算为说谎言的；我虽无过，受的伤还不能医治。

*Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.

* 伯34:7 谁像约伯，喝讥诮如同喝水呢？

*What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
§15
* 伯34:8 他与作孽的结伴，和恶人同行。

*Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.

* 伯34:9 他说：人以上帝为乐，总是无益。

*For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.

* 伯34:10 所以，你们明理的人要听我的话。上帝断不至行恶；全能者断不至作孽。

*Therefore hearken unto me ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.

* 伯34:11 他必按人所做的报应人，使各人照所行的得报。
§22
*For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.

* 伯34:12 上帝必不作恶；全能者也不偏离公平。
§24
*Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.

* 伯34:13 谁派他治理地，安定全世界呢？
§26
*Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?
§27
* 伯34:14 他若专心为己，将灵和气收归自己，
§28
*If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;
§29
* 伯34:15 凡有血气的就必一同死亡；世人必仍归尘土。

*All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.
§31
* 伯34:16 你若明理，就当听我的话，留心听我言语的声音。

*If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.

* 伯34:17 难道恨恶公平的可以掌权吗？那有公义的、有大能的，岂可定他有罪吗？

*Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?

* 伯34:18 他对君王说：你是鄙陋的；对贵臣说：你是邪恶的。

*Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly?

* 伯34:19 他待王子不徇情面，也不看重富足的过于贫穷的，因为都是他手所造。
§38
*How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.
§39
* 伯34:20 在转眼之间，半夜之中，他们就死亡。百姓被震动而去世；有权力的被夺去非借人手。

*In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.

* 伯34:21 上帝注目观看人的道路，看明人的脚步。

*For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
§43
* 伯34:22 没有黑暗、阴翳能给作孽的藏身。
§44
*There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

* 伯34:23 上帝审判人，不必使人到他面前再三鉴察。

*For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.

* 伯34:24 他用难测之法打破有能力的人，设立别人代替他们。

*He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.
§49
* 伯34:25 他原知道他们的行为，使他们在夜间倾倒灭亡。

*Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.

* 伯34:26 他在众人眼前击打他们，如同击打恶人一样。

*He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;

* 伯34:27 因为他们偏行不跟从他，也不留心他的道，

*Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:
§55
* 伯34:28 甚至使贫穷人的哀声达到他那里；他也听了困苦人的哀声。

*So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.

* 伯34:29 他使人安静，谁能扰乱（或作：定罪）呢？他掩面，谁能见他呢？无论待一国或一人都是如此

*When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

* 伯34:30 使不虔敬的人不得作王，免得有人牢笼百姓。
§60
*That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
§61
* 伯34:31 有谁对上帝说：我受了责罚，不再犯罪；
§62
*Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:
§63
* 伯34:32 我所看不明的，求你指教我；我若作了孽，必不再作？
§64
*That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
§65
* 伯34:33 他施行报应，岂要随你的心愿、叫你推辞不受吗？选定的是你，不是我。你所知道的只管说吧！
§66
*Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.

* 伯34:34 明理的人和听我话的智慧人必对我说：

*Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.
§69
* 伯34:35 约伯说话没有知识，言语中毫无智慧。
§70
*Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.
§71
* 伯34:36 愿约伯被试验到底，因他回答像恶人一样。
§72
*My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.
§73
* 伯34:37 他在罪上又加悖逆；在我们中间拍手，用许多言语轻慢上帝。
§74
*For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
