* 伯14:1 人为妇人所生，日子短少，多有患难；

*Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.

* 伯14:2 出来如花，又被割下，飞去如影，不能存留。

*He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.

* 伯14:3 这样的人你岂睁眼看他吗？又叫我来受审吗？

*And doth thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?

* 伯14:4 谁能使洁净之物出于污秽之中呢？无论谁也不能！

*Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

* 伯14:5 人的日子既然限定，他的月数在你那里，你也派定他的界限，使他不能越过，

*Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;

* 伯14:6 便求你转眼不看他，使他得歇息，直等他像雇工人完毕他的日子。

*Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.

* 伯14:7 树若被砍下，还可指望发芽，嫩枝生长不息；

*For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

* 伯14:8 其根虽然衰老在地里，干也死在土中，

*Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;

* 伯14:9 及至得了水气，还要发芽，又长枝条，像新栽的树一样。

*Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

* 伯14:10 但人死亡而消灭；他气绝，竟在何处呢？
§20
*But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?

* 伯14:11 海中的水绝尽，江河消散干涸。
§22
*As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
§23
* 伯14:12 人也是如此，躺下不再起来，等到天没有了，仍不得复醒，也不得从睡中唤醒。

*So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.

* 伯14:13 惟愿你把我藏在阴间，存于隐密处，等你的忿怒过去；愿你为我定了日期，记念我。

*O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

* 伯14:14 人若死了岂能再活呢？我只要在我一切争战的日子，等我被释放（或作：改变）的时候来到。

*If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

* 伯14:15 你呼叫，我便回答；你手所做的，你必羡慕。

*Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.

* 伯14:16 但如今你数点我的脚步，岂不窥察我的罪过吗？
§32
*For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
§33
* 伯14:17 我的过犯被你封在囊中，也缝严了我的罪孽。

*My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.
§35
* 伯14:18 山崩变为无有；磐石挪开原处。

*And surely the mountains falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.

* 伯14:19 水流消磨石头，所流溢的洗去地上的尘土；你也照样灭绝人的指望。
§38
*The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.

* 伯14:20 你攻击人常常得胜，使他去世；你改变他的容貌，叫他往而不回。

*Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.

* 伯14:21 他儿子得尊荣，他也不知道，降为卑，他也不觉得。
§42
*His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.

* 伯14:22 但知身上疼痛，心中悲哀。
§44
*But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.
