当撒但来对你说，你是个罪人，不能希望到上帝那里领受恩惠之时，你可以告诉他，基督到世上来，就是拯救罪人的。我们本没有什么足以取得上帝喜悦的地方，但我们现在并永远所能提出的恳求，乃是我们所处山穷水尽，走投无路的境遇。这种境遇非有上帝救赎大能的帮助不可。我们既将一切信赖自己的心完全丢开，就可以望着髑髅地的十字架说：[2]

When Satan tells you that you are a sinner, and cannot hope to receive blessing from God, tell him that Christ came into the world to save sinners. We have nothing to recommend us to God; but the plea that we may urge now and ever is our utterly helpless condition, that makes His redeeming power a necessity. 不论你的过去的如何，不论你目前的境遇是多么令人沮丧，只要你愿意带着你目前软弱，无助和绝望的情形来到耶稣面前，我们慈悲的救主就会远远地来迎接你，用祂慈爱的膀臂怀抱你，将祂的义袍披在你的身上。祂让我们穿上祂品格的白衣，将我们呈献与天父。祂在上帝面前为我们代求说：我已经代替了罪人。不要看这个任性的孩子，而要看我。撒但如果指控我们有罪，说我们是他的掳物，基督的宝血就必以更大的能力为我们辩护。（MB 8）[5]

Satan cannot hold the dead in his grasp when the Son of God bids them live. He cannot hold in spiritual death one soul who in faith receives Christ’s Word of power. God is saying to all who are dead in sin, “Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead.” That Word is eternal life....
