第40章 上帝的子民蒙拯救
§1
第40章 上帝的子民蒙拯救
§2
Chap. 40 - Gods People Delivered
§3
当人间的法律不再保护那些尊重上帝律法之人的时候,在各方各处必要发起一种消灭他们的运动。及至那谕旨中所预定的时辰临近,众人将要共同策划根除他们所恨恶的宗派。他们将要决定在一夜之间发动一次决定性的突击,使一切反对和责备的声音全然止息。[1]{GC 635.1}
§4
When the protection of human laws shall be withdrawn from those who honor the law of God, there will be, in different lands, a simultaneous movement for their destruction. As the time appointed in the decree draws near, the people will conspire to root out the hated sect. It will be determined to strike in one night a decisive blow, which shall utterly silence the voice of dissent and reproof. {GC 635.1}[1]
§5
那时上帝的子民——有的在牢狱中,有的隐藏在深山丛林和幽密之处——一直在祈求上帝的保护,同时在各地都有武装的人群,在恶使者的鼓动之下,正在预备进行杀戮的工作。正在这千钧一发之际,以色列的上帝必要出面干涉,来拯救他的选民。耶和华说:“你们必唱歌,像守圣节的夜间一样,并且心中喜乐,像人吹笛,上耶和华的山,到以色列的磐石那里。耶和华必使人听他威严的声音,又显他降罚的膀臂,和他怒中的忿恨,并吞灭的火焰,与霹雷、暴风、冰雹。”(赛30:29-30)[2]{GC 635.2}
§6
The people of God--some in prison cells, some hidden in solitary retreats in the forests and the mountains--still plead for divine protection, while in every quarter companies of armed men, urged on by hosts of evil angels, are preparing for the work of death. It is now, in the hour of utmost extremity, that the God of Israel will interpose for the deliverance of His chosen. Saith the Lord; Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth . . . to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel. And the Lord shall cause His glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the lighting down of His arm, with the indignation of His anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones. Isaiah 30:29, 30. {GC 635.2}[2]
§7
正当成群的恶人狂叫呐喊,讥诮辱骂,声势汹汹地向他们的俘虏猛扑的时候,忽然有一阵浓密的,比午夜更深的黑暗笼罩在地上。随后有一道虹放射着那从上帝宝座而来的荣光,拱在天上,似乎是包围着每一群祈祷的人。那些发怒的群众忽然呆住了。他们的讥诮呐喊声消沉了。他们忘记了自己所要行凶施暴的目标。他们怀着恐惧知祸的心注视着上帝立约的记号,并急欲逃避其压倒一切的光辉。[3]{GC 635.3}
§8
With shouts of triumph, jeering, and imprecation, throngs of evil men are about to rush upon their prey, when, lo, a dense blackness, deeper than the darkness of the night, falls upon the earth. Then a rainbow, shining with the glory from the throne of God, spans the heavens and seems to encircle each praying company. The angry multitudes are suddenly arrested. Their mocking cries die away. The objects of their murderous rage are forgotten. With fearful forebodings they gaze upon the symbol of Gods covenant and long to be shielded from its overpowering brightness. {GC 635.3}[3]
§9
那时上帝的子民要听见一个清朗而悦耳的声音说,“举目观看”,他们随即举目望天,看见那应许之虹。那遮盖穹苍的黑暗怒云此时裂开了,他们像司提反一样定睛望天,看见上帝的荣耀和人子坐在他的宝座上。在他神圣的身体上,他们还能看出他从前受凌辱的痕迹,从他口中听见他在他父和圣天使之前所提出的请求:“父啊,我在哪里,愿你所赐给我的人也同我在哪里。”(约17:24)随后,他们又听见音乐般的欢呼声说:“他们来了!他们来了!他们都是圣洁、无邪恶、无玷污的。他们已经谨守了我忍耐的道,他们必要在众天使中间行走。”于是,那些曾经坚持信仰之人的灰白而颤动的口中发出一阵胜利的呐喊。[4]{GC 636.1}
§10
By the people of God a voice, clear and melodious, is heard, saying, Look up, and lifting their eyes to the heavens, they behold the bow of promise. The black, angry clouds that covered the firmament are parted, and like Stephen they look up steadfastly into heaven and see the glory of God and the Son of man seated upon His throne. In His divine form they discern the marks of His humiliation; and from His lips they hear the request presented before His Father and the holy angels: I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am. John 17:24. Again a voice, musical and triumphant, is heard, saying: They come! they come! holy, harmless, and undefiled. They have kept the word of My patience; they shall walk among the angels; and the pale, quivering lips of those who have held fast their faith utter a shout of victory. {GC 636.1}[4]
§11
上帝显出权能拯救自己的子民,乃是在半夜的时候。那时太阳要出现,全力照耀。许多兆头和奇事接二连三地迅速显现出来,恶人满心恐怖而惊奇地望着这幕景象,同时义人却怀着严肃的喜乐,目睹自己得救的征兆。自然界中的一切事物似乎都颠倒了秩序。江河的水停止流动了。浓密的乌云彼此相撞。在那狂怒的诸天之中却留出一片明亮的空隙,显出光华灿烂的荣耀,从那里发出来上帝的声音,如同众水的声音说:“成了!”(启16:17)[5]{GC 636.2}
§12
It is at midnight that God manifests His power for the deliverance of His people. The sun appears, shining in its strength. Signs and wonders follow in quick succession. The wicked look with terror and amazement upon the scene, while the righteous behold with solemn joy the tokens of their deliverance. Everything in nature seems turned out of its course. The streams cease to flow. Dark, heavy clouds come up and clash against each other. In the midst of the angry heavens is one clear space of indescribable glory, whence comes the voice of God like the sound of many waters, saying: It is done. Revelation 16:17. {GC 636.2}[5]
§13
那声音震动了诸天和全地,于是有一阵大地震,“自从地上有人以来,没有这样大这样厉害的地震。”(启16:17-18)穹苍似乎一开一闭。从那里似乎有上帝宝座所发出的荣光闪射下来。山岭摇动,像风前的芦苇,破碎的岩石散布各处。有大声音怒号像暴风雨临到一般。海洋砰訇翻腾。飓风长啸,像鬼魔施行毁灭的声音。全地此起彼伏,像海洋中的波涛一样。地面破裂。地的根基似乎都塌陷了。山岭下沉。有人居住的海岛淹没不见了。那充满罪恶像所多玛一样的海口商埠被忿怒的水所吞没。“上帝也想起巴比伦大城来,要把那盛自己烈怒的酒杯递给她。”(启16:19,21)那时的大冰雹,“每一个约重九十斤”,施行毁灭的工作。地上最骄奢的城邑要被降为卑。世上伟人为彰显自己而斥资兴建的辉煌大厦,此时要在他们眼前倒塌毁灭,变成废墟。监狱的墙垣破裂,使那些因保守自己信仰而被监禁的上帝的子民得到释放。[6]{GC 636.3}
§14
That voice shakes the heavens and the earth. There is a mighty earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. Verses 17, 18. The firmament appears to open and shut. The glory from the throne of God seems flashing through. The mountains shake like a reed in the wind, and ragged rocks are scattered on every side. There is a roar as of a coming tempest. The sea is lashed into fury. There is heard the shriek of a hurricane like the voice of demons upon a mission of destruction. The whole earth heaves and swells like the waves of the sea. Its surface is breaking up. Its very foundations seem to be giving way. Mountain chains are sinking. Inhabited islands disappear. The seaports that have become like Sodom for wickedness are swallowed up by the angry waters. Babylon the great has come in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. Great hailstones, every one about the weight of a talent, are doing their work of destruction. Verses 19, 21. The proudest cities of the earth are laid low. The lordly palaces, upon which the worlds great men have lavished their wealth in order to glorify themselves, are crumbling to ruin before their eyes. Prison walls are rent asunder, and Gods people, who have been held in bondage for their faith, are set free. {GC 636.3}[6]
§15
坟墓要裂开,“睡在尘埃中的,必有多人复醒,其中有得永生的,有受羞辱永远被憎恶的。”(但12:2)那时,一切曾经坚守第三位天使信息而死了的人要从坟墓里出来得着荣耀,并听见上帝与一切遵守他律法的人立和平之约。“连刺他的人”(启1:7)就是那些在基督临死痛苦之时戏弄他讥诮他的,同那些穷凶极恶反对上帝真理和他子民的人,也要复活,他们要看见主在他的荣耀中,并看见那些忠心顺从之人所要得的尊荣。[7]{GC 637.1}
§16
Graves are opened, and many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth. . . awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Daniel 12:2. All who have died in the faith of the third angels message come forth from the tomb glorified, to hear Gods covenant of peace with those who have kept His law. They also which pierced Him (Revelation 1:7), those that mocked and derided Christs dying agonies, and the most violent opposers of His truth and His people, are raised to behold Him in His glory and to see the honor placed upon the loyal and obedient. {GC 637.1}[7]
§17
这时密云仍然遮蔽天空,但太阳却偶尔出现,好像是耶和华施行报应的眼睛。猛烈的闪电从天空发射,像一片火焰包围着地球。有神秘而可怖的声音,驾乎那骇人的雷轰之上,宣告恶人的劫运。所宣告的话并非人人都能听懂的,但那些传讲假道理的教师却能明白。那在不久之前肆无忌惮,狂傲自夸,而欢喜虐待守上帝诫命者的人,此时却被恐怖所压倒,在惊慌之中战栗不已。他们哭号的声音高过暴风和雷霆的声音。这时鬼魔要承认基督的神性,并在他的权能之前战栗不已,同时人也要哀求慈悲怜悯,在极狼狈的恐怖中俯伏在地。[8]{GC 637.2}
§18
Thick clouds still cover the sky; yet the sun now and then breaks through, appearing like the avenging eye of Jehovah. Fierce lightnings leap from the heavens, enveloping the earth in a sheet of flame. Above the terrific roar of thunder, voices, mysterious and awful, declare the doom of the wicked. The words spoken are not comprehended by all; but they are distinctly understood by the false teachers. Those who a little before were so reckless, so boastful and defiant, so exultant in their cruelty to Gods commandment-keeping people, are now overwhelmed with consternation and shuddering in fear. Their wails are heard above the sound of the elements. Demons acknowledge the deity of Christ and tremble before His power, while men are supplicating for mercy and groveling in abject terror. {GC 637.2}[8]
§19
古时的先知在圣洁的异象中看到上帝的日子便说:“你们要哀号,因为耶和华的日子临近了,这日来到,好像毁灭从全能者来到。”(赛13:6)“你当进入岩穴,藏在土中,躲避耶和华的惊吓,和他威严的荣光。到那日,眼目高傲的必降为卑,性情狂傲的都必屈膝,唯独耶和华被尊崇。必有万军耶和华降罚的一个日子,要临到骄傲狂妄的,一切自高的,都必降为卑。”“到那日,人必将为拜而造的金偶像,银偶像,抛给田鼠和蝙蝠,到耶和华兴起使地大震动的时候,人好进入磐石洞中,和岩石穴里,躲避耶和华的惊吓,和他威严的荣光。”(赛2:10-12,20-21)[9]{GC 638.1}
§20
Said the prophets of old, as they beheld in holy vision the day of God: Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Isaiah 13:6. Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of His majesty. The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon everyone that is proud and lofty, and upon everyone that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low. In that day a man shall cast the idols of his silver, and the idols of his gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; to go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake terribly the earth. Isaiah 2:10-12, 20, 21, margin. {GC 638.1}[9]
§21
这时从乌云的缝隙中透出一颗明星,它的光辉因为四围的黑暗而增加了四倍。它向那些忠诚守法的人宣示希望与喜乐,但对于干犯上帝律法的人却表显严厉与忿怒。凡曾为基督牺牲一切的人,此时要得安全,似乎是藏身在耶和华帐幕的隐密处。他们已经受过试炼,而且在世人和那藐视真理者的面前,已经证实自己为忠于那为他们而死的主。那些冒着死亡的威胁而坚守忠贞的人,此时要起一番奇妙的变化。他们已经从那些变成鬼魔之人黑暗而可怕的压制之下忽然被拯救出来。他们的面容在不久之前是灰白、焦急、枯槁的,现在却焕发着惊奇、信心和爱心。他们要高唱凯旋之歌:“上帝是我们的避难所,是我们的力量,是我们在患难中随时的帮助。所以地虽改变,山虽摇动到海心,其中的水虽砰訇翻腾,山虽因海涨而战抖,我们也不害怕。”(诗46:1-3)[10]{GC 638.2}
§22
Through a rift in the clouds there beams a star whose brilliancy is increased fourfold in contrast with the darkness. It speaks hope and joy to the faithful, but severity and wrath to the transgressors of Gods law. Those who have sacrificed all for Christ are now secure, hidden as in the secret of the Lords pavilion. They have been tested, and before the world and the despisers of truth they have evinced their fidelity to Him who died for them. A marvelous change has come over those who have held fast their integrity in the very face of death. They have been suddenly delivered from the dark and terrible tyranny of men transformed to demons. Their faces, so lately pale, anxious, and haggard, are now aglow with wonder, faith, and love. Their voices rise in triumphant song: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Psalm 46:1-3. {GC 638.2}[10]
§23
当这些表示圣洁信心的言语上升到上帝面前时,空中的乌云便向四边散开,显出星光灿烂的诸天,具有说不出来的荣耀,与周围黑暗而忿怒的乌云形成对照。天国圣城的荣耀从半开的门户中发射出来。随后,天上忽然显出一只手,拿着合起来的两块法版。先知曾说,“诸天必表明他的公义,因为上帝是施行审判的。”(诗50:6)那圣洁的律法,就是上帝的公义,从前曾在西奈山的雷轰和火焰中被宣布为人生的指南,这时却要显现在世人眼前作为审判的标准。那一只手揭开了法版,其中便显出十条诫命,像是用火焰的笔写成的。其中的字迹极为清楚,使人人都能阅读。这时人们的记忆力要豁然觉醒,人人思想中所有迷信和异端的黑暗都要被扫除净尽,上帝那简明、广泛、而有权威的十句话,这时显现在地上一切的居民眼前。[11]{GC 639.1}
§24
While these words of holy trust ascend to God, the clouds sweep back, and the starry heavens are seen, unspeakably glorious in contrast with the black and angry firmament on either side. The glory of the celestial city streams from the gates ajar. Then there appears against the sky a hand holding two tables of stone folded together. Says the prophet: The heavens shall declare His righteousness: for God is judge Himself. Psalm 50:6. That holy law, Gods righteousness, that amid thunder and flame was proclaimed from Sinai as the guide of life, is now revealed to men as the rule of judgment. The hand opens the tables, and there are seen the precepts of the Decalogue, traced as with a pen of fire. The words are so plain that all can read them. Memory is aroused, the darkness of superstition and heresy is swept from every mind, and Gods ten words, brief, comprehensive, and authoritative, are presented to the view of all the inhabitants of the earth. {GC 639.1}[11]
§25
这时,那些曾经践踏上帝神圣诫命的人心中的恐怖与绝望,真是无法形容的。上帝曾把他的律法赐给他们,在他们还有悔改和自新的机会时,他们尽可将自己的品格与律法对照一下,并看出自己的缺点,然而他们为要博得世人的欢心起见,却废弃了律法和训词,而还要教导别人去干犯。他们曾尽力强迫上帝的子民去亵渎主的安息日。现在他们所藐视的律法便要定他们的罪。他们很清楚地看出自己是无可推诿的。他们已经拣选自己所要侍奉的要敬拜的。“那时你们必归回,将善人和恶人,侍奉上帝的和不侍奉上帝的,分别出来。”(玛3:18)[12]{GC 639.2}
§26
It is impossible to describe the horror and despair of those who have trampled upon Gods holy requirements. The Lord gave them His law; they might have compared their characters with it and learned their defects while there was yet opportunity for repentance and reform; but in order to secure the favor of the world, they set aside its precepts and taught others to transgress. They have endeavored to compel Gods people to profane His Sabbath. Now they are condemned by that law which they have despised. With awful distinctness they see that they are without excuse. They chose whom they would serve and worship. Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not. Malachi 3:18. {GC 639.2}[12]
§27
敌对上帝律法的人,从牧师起直到他们中间最微小的为止,这时对于真理和义务有了新的认识。他们看出第四诫的安息日乃是永生上帝的印记,但已为时太晚了。他们看出伪安息日的真相以及自己所用以建造的沙土根基,也已为时太晚了。他们发觉自己一直是在与上帝为敌。宗教界的教师们自称是引领人进入乐园之门,但实际上却把他们带到灭亡之地。我们非至那最后清算的日子,就不能知道担任圣职之人的责任是何等重大,以及他们不忠心的结果是多么可怕。唯有在永恒的天国中,我们才能正确地估计一个人的沉沦是多么大的损失。将来凡听见上帝说:“你们这作恶的仆人,离开我去吧”的人,他们的结局是极其悲惨的![13]{GC 640.1}
§28
The enemies of Gods law, from the ministers down to the least among them, have a new conception of truth and duty. Too late they see that the Sabbath of the fourth commandment is the seal of the living God. Too late they see the true nature of their spurious sabbath and the sandy foundation upon which they have been building. They find that they have been fighting against God. Religious teachers have led souls to perdition while professing to guide them to the gates of Paradise. Not until the day of final accounts will it be known how great is the responsibility of men in holy office and how terrible are the results of their unfaithfulness. Only in eternity can we rightly estimate the loss of a single soul. Fearful will be the doom of him to whom God shall say: Depart, thou wicked servant. {GC 640.1}[13]
§29
这时人要听见上帝的声音从天庭发出,宣告耶稣降临的日子与时辰,并将永远的约交给他的子民。他说话的声音传遍地极,像震动天地的雷轰一样。上帝的以色列人站在那里侧耳倾听,定睛望天。他们的脸上焕发着他的荣耀,光辉四射像古时摩西从西奈山下来时一样。恶人不敢观看他们。当上帝向那些因守安息日为圣而尊荣他的人宣布降福的时候,便有一阵胜利的呐喊发出。[14]{GC 640.2}
§30
The voice of God is heard from heaven, declaring the day and hour of Jesus coming, and delivering the everlasting covenant to His people. Like peals of loudest thunder His words roll through the earth. The Israel of God stand listening, with their eyes fixed upward. Their countenances are lighted up with His glory, and shine as did the face of Moses when he came down from Sinai. The wicked cannot look upon them. And when the blessing is pronounced on those who have honored God by keeping His Sabbath holy, there is a mighty shout of victory. {GC 640.2}[14]
§31
不久之后,在东方出现一小块黑云,约有人的半个手掌那么大。这就是包围着救主的云彩,从远方看上去,似乎是乌黑的。上帝的子民知道这就是人子的兆头。他们肃静地举目注视,那云彩越临近地面,便越有光辉,越有荣耀,直到它变成一片大白云,它底下的荣耀好像烈火,其上则有立约之虹。耶稣驾云前来,作为一位大能的胜利者。这时他不再是“常经忧患”的人,不再喝那羞辱和祸患的苦杯,而是天上地下的胜利者,要来审判活人与死人。他“诚信真实”,“审判争战都按着公义”,并有“在天上的众军”跟随他。(启19:11,14)有不可胜数的大队圣天使,欢唱天国的圣歌护送着他。穹苍似乎充满了他们发光的形体,他们的数目有“千千万万”之多。人类的笔墨无法描述这种情景,属血气的人也不能想象到那辉煌的场面。“他的荣光遮蔽诸天,颂赞充满大地。他辉煌如同日光。”(哈3:3-4)当那活动的云彩就近地面的时候,众目都要看见生命之君。这时,他圣洁的头上不再为那荆棘冠冕所污损,却有荣耀的冕旒戴在他的额上。他的荣颜射出比正午的太阳更眩目更明亮的光彩。“在他衣服和大腿上,有名写着说,万王之王,万主之主。”(启19:16)[15]{GC 640.3}
§32
Soon there appears in the east a small black cloud, about half the size of a mans hand. It is the cloud which surrounds the Saviour and which seems in the distance to be shrouded in darkness. The people of God know this to be the sign of the Son of man. In solemn silence they gaze upon it as it draws nearer the earth, becoming lighter and more glorious, until it is a great white cloud, its base a glory like consuming fire, and above it the rainbow of the covenant. Jesus rides forth as a mighty conqueror. Not now a Man of Sorrows, to drink the bitter cup of shame and woe, He comes, victor in heaven and earth, to judge the living and the dead. Faithful and True, in righteousness He doth judge and make war. And the armies which were in heaven (Revelation 19:11, 14) follow Him. With anthems of celestial melody the holy angels, a vast, unnumbered throng, attend Him on His way. The firmament seems filled with radiant forms--ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands. No human pen can portray the scene; no mortal mind is adequate to conceive its splendor. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise. And His brightness was as the light. Habakkuk 3:3,4. As the living cloud comes still nearer, every eye beholds the Prince of life. No crown of thorns now mars that sacred head; but a diadem of glory rests on His holy brow. His countenance outshines the dazzling brightness of the noonday sun. And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, King of kings, and Lord of lords. Revelation 19:16. {GC 640.3}[15]
§33
在他面前,众人的“脸面都变青了”,那永远绝望的恐怖要笼罩在拒绝上帝恩典之人的身上。“人心消化,双膝相碰;”“脸都变色。”(耶30:6;鸿2:10)义人要战兢说:“谁能站立得住呢?”天使的歌声止息了,随即有一刻可怕的沉寂。然后,主耶稣开口说:“我的恩典够你用的。”于是义人的容貌焕发起来,他们的心中洋溢着喜乐。当天使再临近地面的时候,他们便以更悠扬嘹亮的声音重新歌唱。[16]{GC 641.1}
§34
Before His presence all faces are turned into paleness; upon the rejecters of Gods mercy falls the terror of eternal despair. The heart melteth, and the knees smite together, . . . and the faces of them all gather blackness. Jeremiah 30:6; Nahum 2:10. The righteous cry with trembling: Who shall be able to stand? The angels song is hushed, and there is a period of awful silence. Then the voice of Jesus is heard, saying: My grace is sufficient for you. The faces of the righteous are lighted up, and joy fills every heart. And the angels strike a note higher and sing again as they draw still nearer to the earth. {GC 641.1}[16]
§35
万王之王四围发着烈火驾云降临了。天就被卷起来像书卷一样,地在他面前颤动,各山岭海岛都被挪移离开本位。“我们的上帝要来,决不闭口,有烈火在他面前吞灭,有暴风在他四围大刮。他招呼上天下地,为要审判他的民。”(诗50:3-4)[17]{GC 641.2}
§36
The King of kings descends upon the cloud, wrapped in flaming fire. The heavens are rolled together as a scroll, the earth trembles before Him, and every mountain and island is moved out of its place. Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about Him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people. Psalm 50:3,4. {GC 641.2}[17]
§37
“地上的君王、臣宰、将军、富户、壮士和一切为奴的、自主的,都藏在山洞和岩石穴里,向山和岩石说,倒在我们身上吧,把我们藏起来,躲避坐宝座者的面目和羔羊的忿怒,因为他们忿怒的大日到了,谁能站得住呢?”(启6:15-17)[18]{GC 642.1}
§38
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every freeman, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Revelation 6:15-17. {GC 642.1}[18]
§39
嘲笑的戏弄止息了,说谎的嘴唇也静默无言了。兵器相接和战场喊杀的声音,“战士在乱杀之间”的喧嚷都沉寂了(赛9:5)。此时所能听见的,只是祈祷、哭泣和哀号之声。在不久之前还在讥诮的人,此时便要呼号:“他们忿怒的大日到了,谁能站得住呢?”恶人宁愿被埋在山岭和岩石之下,而不愿与他们所藐视所拒绝的主见面。[19]{GC 642.2}
§40
The derisive jests have ceased. Lying lips are hushed into silence. The clash of arms, the tumult of battle, with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood (Isaiah 9:5), is stilled. Nought now is heard but the voice of prayer and the sound of weeping and lamentation. The cry bursts forth from lips so lately scoffing: The great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? The wicked pray to be buried beneath the rocks of the mountains rather than meet the face of Him whom they have despised and rejected. {GC 642.2}[19]
§41
他们很熟悉那能刺透死人之耳朵的声音。他们曾多次听见这恳切温柔的声音招呼他们悔改。他们的朋友、弟兄和救赎主曾多次用这声音劝化他们。那声音曾长久规劝他们说:“你们转回,转回吧,离开恶道,何必死亡呢?”(结33:11)但此时这声音在那些拒绝他恩典的人听来,只是充满了谴责,痛斥的意义。他们巴不得这声音是他们所没有听过的。耶稣说:“我呼唤,你们不肯听从;我伸手,无人理会。反轻弃我一切的劝诫,不肯受我的责备。”(箴1:24-25)那声音要唤醒他们的记忆,使他们想起他们所巴不得能忘掉的事,就是他们所藐视的警告,所拒绝的请求,和所轻看的特权。[20]{GC 642.3}
§42
That voice which penetrates the ear of the dead, they know. How often have its plaintive, tender tones called them to repentance. How often has it been heard in the touching entreaties of a friend, a brother, a Redeemer. To the rejecters of His grace no other could be so full of condemnation, so burdened with denunciation, as that voice which has so long pleaded: Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die? Ezekiel 33:11. Oh, that it were to them the voice of a stranger! Says Jesus: I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out My hand, and no man regarded; but ye have set at nought all My counsel, and would none of My reproof. Proverbs 1:24, 25. That voice awakens memories which they would fain blot out--warnings despised, invitations refused, privileges slighted. {GC 642.3}[20]
§43
在基督受辱时戏弄他的人也要在那里。他们要震惊地想起这位受难者的话,那时,大祭司曾起誓吩咐他讲话,他便严肃地宣告说,“后来你们要看见人子,坐在那权能者的右边,驾着天上的云降临。”(太26:64)现今他们果然看见他在荣耀里了。而且将来还要看见他坐在全能者的右边呢。[21]{GC 643.1}
§44
There are those who mocked Christ in His humiliation. With thrilling power come to their minds the Sufferers words, when, adjured by the high priest, He solemnly declared: Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Matthew 26:64. Now they behold Him in His glory, and they are yet to see Him sitting on the right hand of power. {GC 643.1}[21]
§45
那些嘲笑他自称为上帝儿子的人,这时都哑口无言了。那里有傲慢的希律,他曾讥诮耶稣的尊名,并吩咐轻慢的兵丁将冠冕戴在他头上。那里也有那些曾用亵渎的手把紫袍穿在他身上,把荆棘冠冕戴在他圣洁的额上,把假的王圭放在他毫无抵抗的手中,并跪在他面前用亵慢的话讽刺他的人。那些曾经击打他,吐唾沫在生命之君脸上的人,此时要设法逃避他那锐利的目光,并逃避他面前压倒一切的荣耀。那些曾用钉钉他的手和脚的人,和那刺他肋旁的兵丁,都要看见这些痕迹,而倍感惊惶与悔恨。[22]{GC 643.2}
§46
Those who derided His claim to be the Son of God are speechless now. There is the haughty Herod who jeered at His royal title and bade the mocking soldiers crown Him king. There are the very men who with impious hands placed upon His form the purple robe, upon His sacred brow the thorny crown, and in His unresisting hand the mimic scepter, and bowed before Him in blasphemous mockery. The men who smote and spit upon the Prince of life now turn from His piercing gaze and seek to flee from the overpowering glory of His presence. Those who drove the nails through His hands and feet, the soldier who pierced His side, behold these marks with terror and remorse. {GC 643.2}[22]
§47
祭司与官长们都能极清楚地回忆当年髑髅地的情形。他们要战栗恐惧地想起自己曾如何以狰狞的笑脸,摇头说,“他救了别人,不能救自己,他是以色列的王,现在可以从十字架上下来,我们就信他。他倚靠上帝,上帝若喜悦他,现在可以救他。”(太27:42-43)[23]{GC 643.3}
§48
With awful distinctness do priests and rulers recall the events of Calvary. With shuddering horror they remember how, wagging their heads in satanic exultation, they exclaimed: He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He be the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him. He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him. Matthew 27:42, 43. {GC 643.3}[23]
§49
他们很清楚地回忆救主的比喻,论到园户怎样拒绝将果子交给主人,而还要打伤他的仆人,杀死他的儿子。他们也记起自己所作的判决,说那葡萄园的主人“要下毒手除灭那些恶人。”在这不忠心之园户的罪恶和刑罚上,祭司和长老们要看出自己的作风和应受的报应。此时他们要发出一阵非常痛苦的呼号。这惨怖绝望的哀声,要比那从前在耶路撒冷街上所喊叫“钉他在十字架上!钉他在十字架上!”的声音更大,说:“他是上帝的儿子!他是真弥赛亚!”他们急欲逃避这万王之王的面。他们妄想逃到地的深处,就是那因自然的变动而裂开的地面,在那里藏身。[24]{GC 643.4}
§50
Vividly they recall the Saviours parable of the husbandmen who refused to render to their lord the fruit of the vineyard, who abused his servants and slew his son. They remember, too, the sentence which they themselves pronounced: The lord of the vineyard will miserably destroy those wicked men. In the sin and punishment of those unfaithful men the priests and elders see their own course and their own just doom. And now there rises a cry of mortal agony. Louder than the shout, Crucify Him, crucify Him, which rang through the streets of Jerusalem, swells the awful, despairing wail, He is the Son of God! He is the true Messiah! They seek to flee from the presence of the King of kings. In the deep caverns of the earth, rent asunder by the warring of the elements, they vainly attempt to hide. {GC 643.4}[24]
§51
在一切拒绝真理之人的人生过程中,常有良心发现的时候。那时他们回忆一生的伪善,他们的心灵便因悔之晚矣而烦恼。这些感想若与那“惊恐临到……好像狂风,灾难来到如同暴雨”(箴1:27)之日的痛悔比较起来,又算什么呢?那些想要除灭基督和他忠诚之民的人,这时要见到那加在他们身上的荣耀。恶人要在恐怖惶惑之中听见圣徒欢乐的歌声说:“看哪!这是我们的上帝,我们素来等候他,他必拯救我们。”(赛25:9)[25]{GC 644.1}
§52
In the lives of all who reject truth there are moments when conscience awakens, when memory presents the torturing recollection of a life of hypocrisy and the soul is harassed with vain regrets. But what are these compared with the remorse of that day when fear cometh as desolation, when destruction cometh as a whirlwind! Proverbs 1:27. Those who would have destroyed Christ and His faithful people now witness the glory which rests upon them. In the midst of their terror they hear the voices of the saints in joyful strains exclaiming: Lo, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us. Isaiah 25:9. {GC 644.1}[25]
§53
当地球东倒西歪,电光四射,雷声大作的时候,上帝儿子的声音要把睡了的圣徒唤醒起来。他望着义人的坟墓,然后举手向天呼喊说:“醒起!醒起!醒起!你们这睡在尘埃中的人起来!”从天涯到地极,死人要听见那声音,凡听见的都要复活。那时从各国、各族、各方、各民中有人出来,聚成极大的队伍,他们的步声要响遍全地。他们要从死亡的监牢中出来,身上披着不朽的荣耀,呼喊着说:“死啊,你得胜的权势在哪里?死啊,你的毒钩在哪里?”(林前15:55)活着的义人和复活的圣徒要同声发出经久而欢乐的胜利呐喊。[26]{GC 644.2}
§54
Amid the reeling of the earth, the flash of lightning, and the roar of thunder, the voice of the Son of God calls forth the sleeping saints. He looks upon the graves of the righteous, then, raising His hands to heaven, He cries: Awake, awake, awake, ye that sleep in the dust, and arise! Throughout the length and breadth of the earth the dead shall hear that voice, and they that hear shall live. And the whole earth shall ring with the tread of the exceeding great army of every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. From the prison house of death they come, clothed with immortal glory, crying: O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 1 Corinthians 15:55. And the living righteous and the risen saints unite their voices in a long, glad shout of victory. {GC 644.2}[26]
§55
从坟墓中出来之人的身材正如他们进坟墓时一样。亚当站在复活的群众当中,显出高大尊严的形状,身材只稍逊于上帝的儿子。他与后代的人类,形成鲜明的对照,使人看出人类的身材体格是大大退化了。然而所有复活的人都赋有永远青春的精力。最初,人是按着上帝的形象造的,不但在品格,同时也在形状和容貌上与上帝相似。后来罪恶几乎完全毁损了那神圣的形象,但基督已来恢复所失去的一切。他要改变我们这污秽卑贱的身体,像他自己的荣耀身体一样。这必死、败坏、丑恶、并一度为罪所污秽的身体,要变成完全、美丽和不朽坏的。一切瑕疵与残缺都已留在坟墓之中。蒙救赎的子民要吃那久已失落的伊甸园中之生命树的果子,便渐渐长成人类在起初的荣耀中所有的身量。罪的咒诅所留下的残痕余迹都要完全消除。基督忠心的子民要在“耶和华我们上帝的荣美之中”显现,在意识、心灵和身体三方面反照耶和华的完全形象。奇哉救恩!久被人所谈论,久为人所仰望,并用热切预期的心情冥思默想,但始终不为人所完全领会。[27]{GC 644.3}
§56
All come forth from their graves the same in stature as when they entered the tomb. Adam, who stands among the risen throng, is of lofty height and majestic form, in stature but little below the Son of God. He presents a marked contrast to the people of later generations; in this one respect is shown the great degeneracy of the race. But all arise with the freshness and vigor of eternal youth. In the beginning, man was created in the likeness of God, not only in character, but in form and feature. Sin defaced and almost obliterated the divine image; but Christ came to restore that which had been lost. He will change our vile bodies and fashion them like unto His glorious body. The mortal, corruptible form, devoid of comeliness, once polluted with sin, becomes perfect, beautiful, and immortal. All blemishes and deformities are left in the grave. Restored to the tree of life in the long-lost Eden, the redeemed will grow up (Malachi 4:2) to the full stature of the race in its primeval glory. The last lingering traces of the curse of sin will be removed, and Christs faithful ones will appear in the beauty of the Lord our God, in mind and soul and body reflecting the perfect image of their Lord. Oh, wonderful redemption! long talked of, long hoped for, contemplated with eager anticipation, but never fully understood. {GC 644.3}[27]
§57
活着的义人要在“一霎时,眨眼之间”改变。上帝的声音已使他们得荣耀,现在他们要变为不朽的,且要与复活的圣徒一同被提到空中与他们的主相遇。天使要将主的选民“从四方,从天这边,到天那边,都招聚了来。”天使要将小孩子送到他们慈母的怀抱里。因死亡而久别的亲友要团聚,永不再离散,随后他们要唱着欢乐的诗歌,一同升到上帝的城里。[28]{GC 645.1}
§58
The living righteous are changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. At the voice of God they were glorified; now they are made immortal and with the risen saints are caught up to meet their Lord in the air. Angels gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Little children are borne by holy angels to their mothers arms. Friends long separated by death are united, nevermore to part, and with songs of gladness ascend together to the City of God. {GC 645.1}[28]
§59
在云车的两边都有翅膀,在车下有活轮,当车上升的时候,车轮要发出喊声,说:“圣哉”,翅膀飞动的时候也要发声,说:“圣哉”。随行的大队天使也要喊叫说,“圣哉,圣哉,圣哉,全能主上帝!”当车辇向新耶路撒冷上升的时候,得救的子民要欢呼说:“哈利路亚!”[29]{GC 645.2}
§60
On each side of the cloudy chariot are wings, and beneath it are living wheels; and as the chariot rolls upward, the wheels cry, Holy, and the wings, as they move, cry, Holy, and the retinue of angels cry, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. And the redeemed shout, Alleluia! as the chariot moves onward toward the New Jerusalem. {GC 645.2}[29]
§61
在进入上帝的圣城之前,救主要把胜利的徽号赐给跟从他的人,并将王室的标记授予他们。光明灿烂的行列要在他们的王四围集成中空的方阵,他的形体尊严高大,超乎众天使和圣徒之上,他的脸向他们表示慈祥的爱。那数不过来的蒙赎群众目不转睛地注视着他,众目要仰望那从前“面貌比别人憔悴,形容比世人枯槁”者的荣耀。耶稣要亲自用右手把冠冕戴在每一个得救的人头上。每个人都有一顶冠冕,上面刻着自己的“新名”(启2:17)和“归耶和华为圣”的字样。有胜利者的棕树枝和光亮的金琴交在每一个人手中。当司令的天使带头奏乐时,人人的手便要巧妙地拨动琴弦,发出和谐嘹亮的甜美音乐。各人心中洋溢着莫可言宣的欢乐热情,一齐扬起感恩的颂赞:“他爱我们,用自己的血使我们脱离罪恶,又使我们成为国民,作他父上帝的祭司,但愿荣耀权能归给他,直到永永远远。”(启1:5-6)[30]{GC 645.3}
§62
Before entering the City of God, the Saviour bestows upon His followers the emblems of victory and invests them with the insignia of their royal state. The glittering ranks are drawn up in the form of a hollow square about their King, whose form rises in majesty high above saint and angel, whose countenance beams upon them full of benignant love. Throughout the unnumbered host of the redeemed every glance is fixed upon Him, every eye beholds His glory whose visage was so marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men. Upon the heads of the overcomers, Jesus with His own right hand places the crown of glory. For each there is a crown, bearing his own new name (Revelation 2:17), and the inscription, Holiness to the Lord. In every hand are placed the victors palm and the shining harp. Then, as the commanding angels strike the note, every hand sweeps the harp strings with skillful touch, awaking sweet music in rich, melodious strains. Rapture unutterable thrills every heart, and each voice is raised in grateful praise: Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Revelation 1:5, 6. {GC 645.3}[30]
§63
在得赎的群众面前有圣城出现。耶稣便打开珍珠的门,使谨守真理的国民进去。他们在那里要见到上帝的乐园,就是亚当未曾犯罪时的家乡。随后有声音发出,这声音比人类耳朵曾经听过的任何音乐更为甜美,说:“你们的争斗终止了。”“你们这蒙父赐福的,可来承受那创世以来为你们所预备的国。”[31]{GC 646.1}
§64
Before the ransomed throng is the Holy City. Jesus opens wide the pearly gates, and the nations that have kept the truth enter in. There they behold the Paradise of God, the home of Adam in his innocency. Then that voice, richer than any music that ever fell on mortal ear, is heard, saying: Your conflict is ended. Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. {GC 646.1}[31]
§65
救主曾为门徒祷告说:“愿你所赐给我的人,也同我在那里。”这祷告此时便应验了。基督要把自己宝血赎回的,“无瑕无疵,欢欢喜喜站在他荣耀之前”(犹24)的人献给天父说:“我和你所赐给我的儿女都在这里。”“你所赐给我的人,我已保全了。”奇哉,救赎之爱!当无穷之父垂看这些蒙赎的子民,并在他们的身上看见自己的形象时——罪的杂音已经消灭了,它的咒词已经除掉了。人类再与上帝和好了,那将是何等快乐的时辰啊![32]{GC 646.2}
§66
Now is fulfilled the Saviours prayer for His disciples: I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am. Faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy (Jude 24), Christ presents to the Father the purchase of His blood, declaring: Here am I, and the children whom Thou hast given Me. Those that Thou gavest Me I have kept. Oh, the wonders of redeeming love! the rapture of that hour when the infinite Father, looking upon the ransomed, shall behold His image, sins discord banished, its blight removed, and the human once more in harmony with the divine! {GC 646.2}[32]
§67
耶稣用说不出来的爱欢迎他忠心的子民来“享受他主人的快乐”。救主的快乐是因为他能在荣耀的国里看到那些因他的痛苦和羞辱而得救的人。得救的子民也要分享这快乐,因为他们要见到在这些蒙福的人中,有一些是由于他们的祷告、劳苦和仁爱的牺牲而归向基督的。当他们聚集在那伟大的白色宝座之前,他们要看到自己所引领归向基督的人,并要发现这些人又引了别人,而别人又引了更多的人,一齐都来到这永久安息的天乡,在那里他们摘下冠冕放在耶稣脚前,并永远颂赞他,这时他们的心中要盈溢着莫可言喻的喜乐。[33]{GC 647.1}
§68
With unutterable love, Jesus welcomes His faithful ones to the joy of their Lord. The Saviours joy is in seeing, in the kingdom of glory, the souls that have been saved by His agony and humiliation. And the redeemed will be sharers in His joy, as they behold, among the blessed, those who have been won to Christ through their prayers, their labors, and their loving sacrifice. As they gather about the great white throne, gladness unspeakable will fill their hearts, when they behold those whom they have won for Christ, and see that one has gained others, and these still others, all brought into the haven of rest, there to lay their crowns at Jesus feet and praise Him through the endless cycles of eternity. {GC 647.1}[33]
§69
当得赎的人受欢迎进入上帝圣城的时候,空中便要发出一阵颂赞的欢呼。两个亚当将要相会了。上帝的儿子站在那里伸手来拥抱人类的始祖。亚当原是他所造的,后来犯罪干犯了创造主。他的罪曾使救主的身体受到十字架的钉痕。在亚当看见这残酷的钉痕时,他不敢投身在主的怀中,只是谦卑抱愧地俯伏在他脚前,说:“被杀的羔羊是配得权柄的!”救主温柔地把他扶起来,叫他再看伊甸的家乡,就是他长久离别的老家。[34]{GC 647.2}
§70
As the ransomed ones are welcomed to the City of God, there rings out upon the air an exultant cry of adoration. The two Adams are about to meet. The Son of God is standing with outstretched arms to receive the father of our race--the being whom He created, who sinned against his Maker, and for whose sin the marks of the crucifixion are borne upon the Saviours form. As Adam discerns the prints of the cruel nails, he does not fall upon the bosom of his Lord, but in humiliation casts himself at His feet, crying: Worthy, worthy is the Lamb that was slain! Tenderly the Saviour lifts him up and bids him look once more upon the Eden home from which he has so long been exiled. {GC 647.2}[34]
§71
自从亚当被逐出伊甸之后,他在世上的生活是充满着忧患的。每一片凋残的树叶,每一个献祭的牺牲,以及自然美景中的每一个创痕,人类纯洁品性上的每一个污点,都曾使亚当清楚地想起自己的罪来。当他见到地上恶贯满盈,听见世人怎样拒绝他的警告,斥责他为罪恶祸首时,他的悔恨悲伤是非常剧烈的。他曾谦卑忍受犯罪的刑罚,几有一千年之久。他曾诚诚实实地痛悔己罪,信靠上帝所应许之救主的功劳,并怀着复活的希望而死。现在上帝的儿子已经救赎了人类的失败和堕落,所以借着他赎罪和好的工作,他已使亚当能以恢复他起初的国权。[35]{GC 647.3}
§72
After his expulsion from Eden, Adams life on earth was filled with sorrow. Every dying leaf, every victim of sacrifice, every blight upon the fair face of nature, every stain upon mans purity, was a fresh reminder of his sin. Terrible was the agony of remorse as he beheld iniquity abounding, and, in answer to his warnings, met the reproaches cast upon himself as the cause of sin. With patient humility he bore, for nearly a thousand years, the penalty of transgression. Faithfully did he repent of his sin and trust in the merits of the promised Saviour, and he died in the hope of a resurrection. The Son of God redeemed mans failure and fall; and now, through the work of the atonement, Adam is reinstated in his first dominion. {GC 647.3}[35]
§73
亚当喜出望外地看到自己从前所喜爱的树木,这些树上的果子是他在无罪而快乐的日子中所摘取吃用的。他见到自己所亲手修理过的葡萄树,和自己所曾爱护的花卉。他充分地体会到当前的现实,他认明这确是光复了的伊甸园,并且比他出亡时更为美丽可爱。救主领他到生命树前并摘下那荣美的果子请他吃。他观看周围的情景,只见蒙赎的子子孙孙都站在上帝的乐园中。于是他摘下闪烁的冠冕,放在耶稣脚前,并投身在他的怀里,拥抱着救赎主。随后弹奏金琴,广大的穹苍便响应那凯旋之歌:“被杀而又活的羔羊,是配得荣耀的!”然后,亚当的全家都同声歌唱,把自己的冠冕放在救主脚前,俯伏崇拜。[36]{GC 648.1}
§74
Transported with joy, he beholds the trees that were once his delight--the very trees whose fruit he himself had gathered in the days of his innocence and joy. He sees the vines that his own hands have trained, the very flowers that he once loved to care for. His mind grasps the reality of the scene; he comprehends that this is indeed Eden restored, more lovely now than when he was banished from it. The Saviour leads him to the tree of life and plucks the glorious fruit and bids him eat. He looks about him and beholds a multitude of his family redeemed, standing in the Paradise of God. Then he casts his glittering crown at the feet of Jesus and, falling upon His breast, embraces the Redeemer. He touches the golden harp, and the vaults of heaven echo the triumphant song: Worthy, worthy, worthy is the Lamb that was slain, and lives again! The family of Adam take up the strain and cast their crowns at the Saviours feet as they bow before Him in adoration. {GC 648.1}[36]
§75
众天使都看见了这次的团聚,在亚当堕落的时候,他们曾为他痛哭流泪,及至耶稣复活升天,为一切信靠他名的人敞开坟墓之后,他们便为之欢喜快乐。现今他们既见到救赎之工已经完成,便要同声颂赞。[37]{GC 648.2}
§76
This reunion is witnessed by the angels who wept at the fall of Adam and rejoiced when Jesus, after His resurrection, ascended to heaven, having opened the grave for all who should believe on His name. Now they behold the work of redemption accomplished, and they unite their voices in the song of praise. {GC 648.2}[37]
§77
在宝座之前仿佛有火搀杂的玻璃海,因上帝的荣耀而极其辉煌,聚集在其上的群众,就是那已经“胜了兽和兽的像,并他名字数目的人。”(启15:2)那从人间赎回来的十四万四千人,要与羔羊同站在锡安山上,他们手里“拿着上帝的琴”,随即有声音发出,“像众水的声音,和打雷的声音,并且我所听见的好像弹琴的所弹的琴声。”(启14:1-5;15:3)他们要在宝座前唱出“新歌”,除了那十四万四千人之外,没有人能学这歌。这是摩西和羔羊的歌——一首拯救的歌,因为这乃是他们的经验之歌,其中所叙述的经验是他人所未曾经历的。“羔羊无论往哪里去,他们都跟随他。”这些人是从世界上活着的人中变化升天的,要被算为“初熟的果子,归与上帝和羔羊。”“这些人是从大患难中出来的,”他们曾经历过那从有国以来最大的艰难,他们已经忍受了雅各大患难的困苦,他们曾在上帝倾降最后刑罚和人类没有中保的时候坚定站立。这时他们已经蒙了拯救,是因为“曾用羔羊的血,把衣裳洗白净了。”“在他们的口中查不出谎言来,他们是没有瑕疵的”站在上帝面前。“所以他们在上帝宝座前,昼夜在他殿中侍奉他,坐宝座的要用帐幕护庇他们。”他们已经看见地球被饥荒和瘟疫所蹂躏,太阳发出大热烤人,并且他们自己也曾忍受患难和饥渴之苦。但今后“他们不再饥,不再渴,日头和炎热必不伤害他们,因为宝座中的羔羊必牧养他们,领他们到生命水的泉源,上帝也必擦去他们一切的眼泪。”(启7:14-17)[38]{GC 648.3}
§78
Upon the crystal sea before the throne, that sea of glass as it were mingled with fire,--so resplendent is it with the glory of God,--are gathered the company that have gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name. With the Lamb upon Mount Zion, having the harps of God, they stand, the hundred and forty and four thousand that were redeemed from among men; and there is heard, as the sound of many waters, and as the sound of a great thunder, the voice of harpers harping with their harps. And they sing a new song before the throne, a song which no man can learn save the hundred and forty and four thousand. It is the song of Moses and the Lamb--a song of deliverance. None but the hundred and forty-four thousand can learn that song; for it is the song of their experience--an experience such as no other company have ever had. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth. These, having been translated from the earth, from among the living, are counted as the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb. Revelation 15:2, 3; 14:1-5. These are they which came out of great tribulation; they have passed through the time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation; they have endured the anguish of the time of Jacobs trouble; they have stood without an intercessor through the final outpouring of Gods judgments. But they have been delivered, for they have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. In their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before God. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They have seen the earth wasted with famine and pestilence, the sun having power to scorch men with great heat, and they themselves have endured suffering, hunger, and thirst. But they shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Revelation 7:14-17. {GC 648.3}[38]
§79
在各世代中,救主的选民都是在试炼的学校中受过教育和训练的。他们曾在世上行走窄路,他们曾在患难的火炉中被炼净。他们曾为耶稣的缘故忍受反对,恼恨和毁谤。他们曾在斗争和痛苦中跟从他,他们曾坚忍克己并经验痛苦和失望。由于他们自己的痛苦经验,他们看出了罪的邪恶,权势和祸害,因此他们真心憎厌罪恶。他们既体会到救主用以消除罪恶的无穷牺牲,他们就自卑虚己,心中充满感恩和赞美,这种心情不是那些未曾犯罪堕落的生灵所能体会到的。因为他们蒙基督的赦免多,所以他们的爱也多。他们已经与基督一同受苦,所以也配分享他的荣耀。[39]{GC 649.1}
§80
In all ages the Saviours chosen have been educated and disciplined in the school of trial. They walked in narrow paths on earth; they were purified in the furnace of affliction. For Jesus sake they endured opposition, hatred, calumny. They followed Him through conflicts sore; they endured self-denial and experienced bitter disappointments. By their own painful experience they learned the evil of sin, its power, its guilt, its woe; and they look upon it with abhorrence. A sense of the infinite sacrifice made for its cure humbles them in their own sight and fills their hearts with gratitude and praise which those who have never fallen cannot appreciate. They love much because they have been forgiven much. Having been partakers of Christs sufferings, they are fitted to be partakers with Him of His glory. {GC 649.1}[39]
§81
上帝的后嗣是从角楼、草舍、地窖、死刑台、荒山、旷野、地洞和海底出来的。他们在世上之时,曾受穷乏、患难和苦害。千百万人曾因坚决不肯顺服撒但的欺骗主张,而死于臭名之上。在世人的审判厅中,他们曾被判为最恶劣的罪犯。但现在“上帝是施行审判的,”(诗50:6)世人的判决被他推翻了。他又“除掉普天下他百姓的羞辱。”(赛25:8)“人必称他们为圣民,为耶和华的赎民。”上帝要定规“赐华冠与锡安悲哀的人,代替灰尘;喜乐油,代替悲哀;赞美衣,代替忧伤之灵。”(赛62:12;61:3)他们不再是软弱、受苦、离散、被压迫的了。从此以后,他们永远与上帝同在。他们站在宝座之前,身上披着华丽的衣袍,胜过世上最尊贵的人所穿的。他们头戴王冠,其荣美过于人间帝王所戴的。痛苦流泪的日子从此永远终止了。荣耀之君已擦去各人脸上的眼泪,一切忧苦的因素都被消灭了。在棕树枝条挥舞之下,他们要唱出清亮、甜蜜和谐的赞美之歌,每个声音极其雄壮悠扬,响彻穹苍,“愿救恩归于坐在宝座上我们的上帝,也归于羔羊。”随即有天庭全体响应说,“阿们!颂赞、荣耀、智慧、感谢、尊贵、权柄、大力,都归于我们的上帝,直到永永远远。”(启7:10,12)[40]{GC 650.1}
§82
The heirs of God have come from garrets, from hovels, from dungeons, from scaffolds, from mountains, from deserts, from the caves of the earth, from the caverns of the sea. On earth they were destitute, afflicted, tormented. Millions went down to the grave loaded with infamy because they steadfastly refused to yield to the deceptive claims of Satan. By human tribunals they were adjudged the vilest of criminals. But now God is judge Himself. Psalm 50:6. Now the decisions of earth are reversed. The rebuke of His people shall He take away. Isaiah 25:8. They shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord. He hath appointed to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Isaiah 62:12; 61:3. They are no longer feeble, afflicted, scattered, and oppressed. Henceforth they are to be ever with the Lord. They stand before the throne clad in richer robes than the most honored of the earth have ever worn. They are crowned with diadems more glorious than were ever placed upon the brow of earthly monarchs. The days of pain and weeping are forever ended. The King of glory has wiped the tears from all faces; every cause of grief has been removed. Amid the waving of palm branches they pour forth a song of praise, clear, sweet, and harmonious; every voice takes up the strain, until the anthem swells through the vaults of heaven: Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. And all the inhabitants of heaven respond in the ascription: Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Revelation 7:10, 12. {GC 650.1}[40]

在今生,我们只能明白这奇妙救恩之道的开端。我们纵然凭着有限的理解力,热切地思考那集中在十字架上的羞辱与荣耀,生命与死亡,公义与慈怜;但无论如何,我们总不能充分明了其全部意义。对于救赎大爱的长阔高深,我们今日只能模糊地看到一点。但即使在得赎之民能察看如同主察看他们,并知道如同主知道他们一样的时候,这救赎计划还是人所不能完全明白的,不过在永恒的岁月中,新的真理要不住地向他们那惊奇而愉快的意识展开。地上的忧患、痛苦和试探等虽已终止,而且那造成一切的祸根都已清除了,但上帝的子民仍要永远很清楚地明白救恩的代价是何等重大。[41]{GC 651.1}
§84
In this life we can only begin to understand the wonderful theme of redemption. With our finite comprehension we may consider most earnestly the shame and the glory, the life and the death, the justice and the mercy, that meet in the cross; yet with the utmost stretch of our mental powers we fail to grasp its full significance. The length and the breadth, the depth and the height, of redeeming love are but dimly comprehended. The plan of redemption will not be fully understood, even when the ransomed see as they are seen and know as they are known; but through the eternal ages new truth will continually unfold to the wondering and delighted mind. Though the griefs and pains and temptations of earth are ended and the cause removed, the people of God will ever have a distinct, intelligent knowledge of what their salvation has cost. {GC 651.1}[41]
§85
在那永恒的岁月中,基督的十字架要作为得赎子民的科学与诗歌。在得了荣耀的基督身上,他们要看出被钉十字架的基督。他们永不忘记那位创造并托住无数世界的主,上帝的爱子、天庭的君王、基路伯与发光的撒拉弗所乐意尊重的神,曾屈尊虚己来救拔堕落的人类,他们永不忘记他曾担负罪的刑罚和羞辱,以至天父掩面不忍看他,直到这沦亡世界的祸患使他心碎,并在髑髅地的十字架上把他害死了。他是宇宙诸世界的创造主,是一切命运的支配者,竟愿因爱人而撇弃自己的荣耀并亲自忍受屈辱,这是要使宇宙众生永远感到惊奇而倍致钦崇的。当蒙救的众民看到自己的救赎主,并见他的脸上焕发着天父永远的荣耀,又目睹他永远长存的宝座,并且知道他的国度是永无穷尽的时候,他们就要唱出欢乐的诗歌,说:“那曾被杀,而借着他的宝血救我们归于上帝的羔羊,是配得荣耀的!”[42]{GC 651.2}
§86
The cross of Christ will be the science and the song of the redeemed through all eternity. In Christ glorified they will behold Christ crucified. Never will it be forgotten that He whose power created and upheld the unnumbered worlds through the vast realms of space, the Beloved of God, the Majesty of heaven, He whom cherub and shining seraph delighted to adore--humbled Himself to uplift fallen man; that He bore the guilt and shame of sin, and the hiding of His Fathers face, till the woes of a lost world broke His heart and crushed out His life on Calvarys cross. That the Maker of all worlds, the Arbiter of all destinies, should lay aside His glory and humiliate Himself from love to man will ever excite the wonder and adoration of the universe. As the nations of the saved look upon their Redeemer and behold the eternal glory of the Father shining in His countenance; as they behold His throne, which is from everlasting to everlasting, and know that His kingdom is to have no end, they break forth in rapturous song: Worthy, worthy is the Lamb that was slain, and hath redeemed us to God by His own most precious blood! {GC 651.2}[42]
§87
十字架的奥秘足以解释一切其他的奥秘。在髑髅地所发出的光辉中,那曾使我们惊惶畏惧的上帝之品性,却要显为美丽而可爱的了。同时也使人看出:在上帝的圣洁、公正和权柄之中,都参合着怜悯、温柔和父母般的慈爱。我们一面见到他宝座的威严高大,一面也可看到他品德的慈悲,便能比过去更清楚地体会到“我们的父”这个亲密名称有何意义。[43]{GC 652.1}
§88
The mystery of the cross explains all other mysteries. In the light that streams from Calvary the attributes of God which had filled us with fear and awe appear beautiful and attractive. Mercy, tenderness, and parental love are seen to blend with holiness, justice, and power. While we behold the majesty of His throne, high and lifted up, we see His character in its gracious manifestations, and comprehend, as never before, the significance of that endearing title, Our Father. {GC 652.1}[43]
§89
到那时我们便要看出:这位智慧无穷的主,除了牺牲自己的儿子以外,是没有别的方法能以救我们的。这种牺牲的报酬就是他能欢喜见到地上住满了圣洁、快乐和不死的赎民。救主与黑暗权势争战的结果就是蒙救之子民的欢喜,使上帝因而得荣耀,直到永永远远。这就说明天父重视人的价值,甚至情愿付出这样的代价,并且基督也要因见到自己大牺牲的效果而心满意足。[44]{GC 652.2}
§90
It will be seen that He who is infinite in wisdom could devise no plan for our salvation except the sacrifice of His Son. The compensation for this sacrifice is the joy of peopling the earth with ransomed beings, holy, happy, and immortal. The result of the Saviours conflict with the powers of darkness is joy to the redeemed, redounding to the glory of God throughout eternity. And such is the value of the soul that the Father is satisfied with the price paid; and Christ Himself, beholding the fruits of His great sacrifice, is satisfied. {GC 652.2}[44]
