*Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

* 约叁1:3 有弟兄来证明你心里存的真理，正如你按真理而行，我就甚喜乐。

*For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

* 约叁1:4 我听见我的儿女们按真理而行，我的喜乐就没有比这个大的。

*I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

*Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;

*Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well:

* 约叁1:7 因他们是为主的名（原文作那名）出外，对于外邦人一无所取。

*Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.

* 约叁1:8 所以我们应该接待这样的人，叫我们与他们一同为真理做工。

*We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.

* 约叁1:9 我曾略略的写信给教会，但那在教会中好为首的丢特腓不接待我们。

*I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.

* 约叁1:10 所以我若去，必要提说他所行的事，就是他用恶言妄论我们。还不以此为足，他自己不接待弟兄，有人愿意接待，他也禁止，并且将接待弟兄的人赶出教会。

*Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.

*Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
